The Condie Nature Refuge is an outdoor public recreation site that is open year-round. Located 20 km north of downtown Regina, the nature refuge surrounds a water reservoir that is the perfect spot for canoeing, kayaking, and shoreline fishing. No motorized boats are permitted in the water. With free parking, the Condie Nature Refuge is a great place to bundle up, and go bird watching.

A national historic site and provincial heritage property, the Government House in Regina are an accessible, and historic place to learn about Saskatchewan’s living heritage and history. With a large collection that is ever-changing, there are plenty of stories to explore. The 2021 feature exhibit is “Rehab-Rest-Recreation, Government House Convalescent Period 1945-1957”. First opening as a convalescent home in the mid-1940s, the Government House was a house of healing and rehabilitation. Therapy, sports, and healing were the three pillars of rehabilitation at the facility, which was open and available to veterans with pensions, or those how had seen wartime service, and who did not need active medical treatment.
