The holiday season has arrived, so why not make the most of it by attending a festive event? From a traditional German Christmas market to a special holiday-themed concert, there are plenty of COVID-friendly events taking place in Regina this Christmas. Check out this list of what to do in Regina this holiday season.
Have you ever wanted to visit a traditional German Christmas market? Now is your chance! Regina is hosting its very own German-inspired Christkindl Markt for 2020. Taking place on November 28, the market will be set up at the German Club. It is free to attend, and visitors can expect to find everything from baked goods and novelty items to handmade gifts. There will also be a children’s area with baking and crafts, as well as plenty of food and beverages. Bring an appetite, as bratwurst sausages, apple strudel, and mulled wine will all be served.
Head over to Regina’s Holy Rosary Cathedral for Vivaldi Reimagined. This holiday-themed concert will see famous keyboardist Valerie Hall performing on the Holy Rosary Cathedral’s magnificent Cassavant organ. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will be reworked and performed throughout the evening. There are three shows taking place from December 17 to December 19, so be sure to get a ticket while you still can.
Local singer-songwriter-pianist Jeffery Straker is hosting a holiday concert in Regina this year. There are two events, happening on December 11 and 12, at the Conexus Arts Centre. Jeffery Straker A Very Prairie Christmas promises to feature story-telling, an audience sing along, and contemporary and classic Christmas tunes. Participants are encouraged to wear their most festive outfits (think: ugly Christmas sweaters). Tickets are available online only, due to the pandemic, and all food and beverages must be pre-ordered online. Further, guests must sit at their designated tables throughout the entirety of the concert.
